Diploma in Information Technology

The Diploma in Information Technology is a 2.5-year programme designed for both beginners and aspiring IT professionals. It offers a solid foundation in core IT areas such as programming, databases, multimedia, and networks, while also covering marketing, business communication, and problem-solving to develop versatile skills. Students gain hands-on experience through co-operative placements with multinational companies, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Graduates are well-prepared with the technical, personal, and professional skills needed to pursue further studies or begin a successful career in the IT industry.

• Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification)

• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum grade of C [Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00] in any subject or equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

• Possess SKM Level 3 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent

• A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00

• A pass in any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, MQF)

• Other relevant & equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. 

Notes:

• Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the certificate programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.

• Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate need to take a bridging  Mathematics course with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of the study.

• Candidates with a credit in a Computing-related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

For Local Students:

• MUET: Band 2
• SPM English: Grade B+
• UEC English Language: Grade A2
• TOEFL IBT: 30-31
• IELTS: 4.0
• 1119/O-Level/IGCSE: Grade C
• Cambridge English Qualification Test / Linguaskill: 140
• Pearson Test: 36
• CEFR: B1 (with at least 2 skills at B1)

• In the event that the English Language Requirements are not met, applicants will be required to take Basic English and English Foundation for in-sessional academic enhancement concurrently with the programme.

• Applicants who have an academic qualification from a higher learning institution which uses the English Language as a medium of instruction may be granted an exemption from the University Language Requirements.
