About
The ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (AFIA) at Sunway College Ipoh is a one-year programme that provides a strong foundation in accounting and finance for students aiming to pursue the full ACCA Qualification. This programme is ideal for students who want to build a career in auditing, taxation, corporate finance, and accountancy, both in Malaysia and internationally.
Students will learn fundamental accounting principles, management concepts, and business skills that prepare them for professional studies and real-world application. Upon completion, graduates can progress directly into the ACCA Qualification pathway, setting them on track to becoming a globally recognised chartered accountant.

Intakes
Entry Requirements
The students need to meet the following Entry Requirements:
- Passing SPM/O-Level with a minimum of 5 credits, including English and Mathematics
- Passing UEC with a minimum of 5B6, including English and Mathematics
- Passing STPM and 5 credits in SPM, including English and Mathematics
- Other equivalent qualifications.
English Profiency Requirements (International Students):
International students must have proof of good proficiency in verbal and written English:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or its equivalent, or
- MUET score of Band 4, or
- SPM English of C, or
- UEC English of B6, or
- O-Level English of 1119, or its equivalent
If a student does not meet this requirement, HEPs must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the program.

Note: Students are also required to complete the Foundation in Professionalism Module (FiP).
