About University of Technology Sydney (UTS)

The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is a dynamic and cosmpolitan university in Sydney, Australia.

UTS is notable for its central location as the only university with its main campuses within the Sydney CBD. It is part of the Australian Technology Network of universities and has the fifth largest enrolment in Sydney. UTS has been ranked 234th in the World's Top 500 universities by the Times HES (2008) and was one of two Australian Universities given A1 ratings across all major disciplines in 2007 and 2008 by the Federal Government Education department.

The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) offers a variety of options for future students in undergraduate and postgraduate studies in faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Design, Architecture and Building, Engineering and Information Technology, Health, Law, Science.

Campus information

There are two campuses in University of Technology Sydney:

  • City campus: The UTS City Campus is made up of 3 building clusters called precincts, as well as various other administrative and student accommodation buildings.
  • Kuring-gai campus: UTS's Kuring-gai campus has no precincts per se as all buildings are located on one site.

The university is currently implementing its City Campus Master Plan, a massive overhaul of the campus involving four new buildings and a number of major refurbishments, re-locations, and new social hubs. The Master Plan will better integrate these precincts, delivering an iconic and pedestrian-friendly campus.

  • City Campus has three precincts, Haymarket, Broadway and Blackfriars right in Sydney's cosmopolitan central business district (CBD) and is surrounded by local attractions.
  • Kuring-gai Campus is close to the suburb of Chatswood and is surrounded by Lane Cove National Park.
