Athletic Facilities
To get through from Des Moines to Simpson College, first of all you should head south on Hwy 65-69 (Jefferson Way) to Girard Street. Turn right onto Girard and proceed west (6 blocks) to D Street. Turn left on D Street. The Cowles Center is located on D Street adjacent to the football field. On street parking is available. In addition, parking lots are available on D Street near the Cowles Center.
Buxton Hall
Buxton Hall, located at 606 N E, provides co-educational suite-style housing for 134 upper- division students. The large four-person rooms share a bathroom with the adjoining same-sex suite. Buxton Hall rooms also have the luxury of a sleeping area that is separate from the rest of the room. Built in 1967 and renovated in 1998 and 1999, Buxton Hall is adjacent to Blank-Pote Theatre and Picken Hall and near Carse Fitness Center and the Kent Campus Center. Buxton Hall is an alcohol-free building.

Picken Hall
Built in 1988, Picken Hall is a co-educational facility housing 94 upper- division students. It is located at 605 N D.Most rooms are set up as two-person suite-style rooms that share a bathroom with the room next door. Four rooms on the lower level are triple rooms with a community bath. Picken Hall is adjacent to Carse Fitness Center and Blank-Pote Theatre and near Kent Campus Center. Picken Hall is an alcohol-free building.

Apartments
Simpson College owns seven apartment buildings: Clinton, Colonial, Detroit, Hamilton, Station Square, Washington, and Weinman. The apartments are primarily designated for students in their junior or senior years. Occasionally a sophomore may be able to get into an apartment through the housing lottery process but they remain unavailable for first-year students.

CLINTON
The Clinton Apartments, acquired by the College in 2007, will house residential students for the first time in the Fall of 2008. Located at 701 West Clinton, these apartments are located 1 block West of the Hamilton apartments and across from Irving Elementary. Each side of this apartment building have 18 apartments will house two to four upper-division students in one and two-bedroom units.

COLONIAL
Colonial Apartments, located at 504 North Buxton Street, is directly across from the Amy Robertson Music Center and next door to Washington Apartments. Acquired in 1993, this building houses two to four upper division students per apartment in 14 one- and two-bedroom units. Each apartment has one bathroom. This building, being close to heart of campus and having spacious parking, is highly desired by Simpson students. Colonial Floor Plan

WASHINGTON
Washington Apartments, located at 500 North Buxton Street, is directly across from the Amy Robertson Music Center and next door to Colonial Apartments. Acquired in 1993, this building houses 2-4 upper division students per apartment in 12 one- and two-bedroom units. Each apartment has one bathroom. Being close to the heart of campus and having spacious parking, this building is highly desired by Simpson students.

STATION SQUARE
Station Square Apartments, located at 100 East Detroit, is directly across from the Simpson College Campus Services Office and Goodwill Store. Acquired in 2003, this building contains 22 4-person apartments and one 2-person apartment. Each apartment has two bathrooms. This building has been designated as alcohol-free and 24-hour quiet hours are in effect during the academic year. The large rooms, extra bathroom, and added amenities make this building the one of the most popular among upper-division students. Residents may also have the option to rent a garage during the school year; that process is coordinated by the Apartment Area Coordinator.

HAMILTON
Hamilton House Apartments, located at 501 West Clinton, is kiddy-corner from Bill Buxton Stadium and across from Irving Elementary School. Acquired in 1986 and renamed in honor of former Simpson College President, William E. Hamilton, this building contains 12 four-person apartments. Each apartment has one bathroom. The location of Hamilton House is perfect for students who want to be close to campus but somewhat removed. Additional amenities of Hamilton include:
WEINMAN
Weinman Apartments, located at 501 North E Street, is on the corner of Detroit and E Street and next door to Detroit Street Apartments. Acquired in 1993, this building was renamed in honor of the Weinman family. Containing 11 four-person apartments and one two-person apartment, this building is a short walk from campus. Each apartment has one bathroom, and had new bathrooms and kitchens installed in 2013.

Note: There are no lights in the bedrooms of Weinman, so it is strongly suggested that you bring lamps for those rooms.
DETROIT
Detroit Street Apartments, located at 608/700/702 Detroit Street, were acquired in 1993. They are comprised of three separate apartment buildings that make up the Detroit apartment community. Buildings 608 and 700 both contain 4 four-person apartments and one three-person apartment. Building 702 contains 4 four-person apartments. Each apartment has one bathroom. The Detroit apartments are a short walk from campus but have spacious parking opportunities.
