The MassArt campus consists of 8 buildings with over 850,000 square feet. The Facilities Department is responsible for providing the daily operational support needed to provide a safe, clean, suitable working and learning environment.
The Facilities Department's primary mission is to keep the buildings and all ancillary systems and components safe and functional. Our secondary goal is to upgrade the facilities to meet changing academic needs.
MassArt is located in Boston, Massachusetts near the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Harvard Medical School, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Northeastern University.
We house students in our three residence halls, one of which just opened in the fall of 2012. Our residence halls are Smith Hall (suite-style), which consists entirely of first-year students, the Artists' Residence (apartment-style), which is primarily returning and transfer students, and the Tree House (suite-style), our new residence hall, that houses primarily first and second year students. All of our residence halls have unique facilities designed to address the needs of student artists.
