About Atlantic Union College
Message from the President
The spring 2016 semester began with an increase in enrollment. This outcome is exceptional given a number of factors. However, most notable is that our first semester as a “re-start/start-up” institution of higher education was this fall 2015 semester.
We consider this growth in the number of students selecting Atlantic Union College, as an affirmation of support for the Board of Trustees’ decision to continue the legacy of AUC’s more than 132 years of providing higher education to the Seventh-day Adventist constituency in the Atlantic Union and members of the neighboring communities.
The College remains a small rural Christian College in the Seventh-day Adventist tradition, with a mission to educate diverse individuals who will graduate and excel in their service-centered professions and actively participate in Community Engagement.
Atlantic Union College emerged offering academic degree programs after nearly five years of the suspension of academic programs. With state approval from the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education to offer four-year degrees, students are enrolling in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programs.
The Bachelor of Arts in Theology/Religion has a dual function: it fulfills pre-seminary requirements and is a preparation for the Pastoral Ministry and allied professions, such as, Hospital Chaplaincy and Public Evangelism. The Bachelor of Science/Biology degree program provides a course of study for students to further their education in the Healthcare professions, such as: Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Dental Hygienist, Nutrition and Dietetics.
Certificate Programs are also offered at AUC. The increase in our enrollment comes from the Certificate Programs. The list of Certificate Programs includes Bookkeeping, NETS, Office Management, Medical Billing and Coding, Information Technology, and Enrolled Agent. The Certificate Programs are short term and lead to industry certification and employment in the areas of study.
Outstanding features at Atlantic Union College are in two areas: (1) the culture of graciousness, dignity, respect, and Christian love; (2) Affordability. Students are encouraged to work on-campus or off-campus. The cost of attending AUC is less than $10,000 per semester (tuition, fees, room and board).
