By 2022, the global edge computing market is expected to reach $6.72 billion. As with any growing market, this will create various jobs, primarily for software engineers. Our Bachelor of Software engineering equips you with skills to design and develop software applications for a range of platforms. You’ll learn theoretical and technical skills in creating high-quality software applications for multifaceted businesses. You’ll be taught grounding concepts in JAVA Programming, Multimedia Authoring, Data Communication & Networking, and Interactive Multimedia.

This programme will direct students to the development and use of multimedia systems. Students are exposed and trained in the relevant programming skills with use of multimedia applications:

  • Theoretical & Technical: Understanding the role of communication technology and tools as applied to distributed multimedia;
  • Programming Skills: Developing skills and in-depth understanding of the use of multimedia tools (applications) with programming languages for Internet and World Wide Web applications;
  • Design: Learning the importance of interactive design in computer programming.

Entry Requirements

1. A pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a credit in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent OR

2. A pass in STPM/A-Level with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any 2 subjects and a credit in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent OR

3. A Diploma in Computer Science OR Software Engineering OR Information Technology OR Information Systems or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and a credit in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent. Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 with a credit in additional mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process OR

Any other Diploma in science and technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Additional Mathematics or Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent.

Candidates without a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM/O-Level or its equivalent may be admitted if the Diploma programme contains subjects in mathematics that are equivalent to Additional Mathematics or Mathematics at SPM/O-Level. Candidate with a credit in computing related subject at SPM/O-Level or STPM/A-Level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration. AND

4. English Proficiency Requirement for International student IELTS 5.0 OR TOEFL iBT 34 OR TOEFL PBT 410-413 OR CAE160 (Cambridge Advance English) OR CPE 180(Cambridge Proficiency English) OR CFE 154-161(Cambridge First English) OR PTE 36(Pearson Test of English Academic) OR MUET Band 3
