How is the academic life at this university/college?
I'm currently studying A-levels Arts, and I'd say the academic life is alright. I'm studying in the PJ campus, and we have a decent-sized library, however, it does get crowded sometimes and is especially hard to find seats during Thursdays and Fridays. The WiFi is kinda slow, so if you want to do the research you'll have to go to the computer lab (which is a part of the library). There isn't an extensive collection of books, but the library has adequate resources to help me out with A-levels studies.
Lecturers wise, I think they're quite alright. As classes only commence once a week, should you require more assistance, you'll need to make an active effort to talk to them before or after classes, or even on separate days when they are free. But they usually are glad to help you out with any relevant questions.
What are the students like?
Honestly, the students in BAC are quite friendly. Four months into the college and I've already met quite a number of people, with half of them being seniors. People are rather welcoming and accepting here, and so far I have not met any spiteful or malicious people on campus.
What do students do when not studying? Tell us about the social and sports life.
There are several types of students, in my opinion.
First: The Activity Types
As the name suggests, these students are very interested in participating in extra-curricular activities, such as debating, mooting, frisbee, performing arts, etc.
There are a variety of clubs here, so students should not have a problem finding a suitable interest. Personally, I'm a member of both the Model United Nations (MUN) club and the Performing Arts Club (You can join as many clubs as you want!) and I have had fun and insightful experiences with both of these clubs.
Second: The Gym Types
As we have a gym, MonsterFit, there is a portion of students who dedicate themselves to constantly visiting the gym. The gym is rather well-equipped in my opinion and is definitely a big attraction on campus.
Third: The Cave Types
Gym wise, we have a hangout area called the 'Cave'. There are recreational activities such as pool, ping pong, and foosball available here, and not to mention a bunch of comfortable couches! Generally, it is a great place to chill out with your buddies, especially after a busy day of studying. However, I would not recommend coming here ALL the time, to the point where you fall behind on your studies.
Four: All of the above
It is not necessary for one to adhere to only one type of activity - you can have a healthy combination of all three!
What is your overall opinion about this university/college?
Overall, I think BAC is quite a good college. I believe that if you are interested in pursuing your studies here, by all means go for it, as staff and facilities are quite sufficient to provide a conducive and suitable environment for you to achieve the best in your studies. There are also many activities to partake and that will greatly build up your character as a whole. For me, if it wasn't because of BAC, I would not even have found myself partaking in MUN conferences! (I never had such opportunities back in high school)
The only complaint I have would be in regards to the management. Not to say that they are completely bad, there's just the occasional irregularity in their management, such as errors in class schedules, etc.
