What are the students like? The students are very open-minded. They accepted me for who I am as someone who is coming from a different culture. Very welcoming. What do students do when not studying? Tell us about the social and sports life. We like to hang out at cafes, have brunch and go to gigs at bars and venues. How is the academic life at this university/college? I love the chill and yet professional nature of the campus. I can easily speak and hang out with the teachers as friends. The attention that was given by the teachers for the students are unbelievably generous, they really took care of us. They actually listens to what we are saying and what we need as a Melbourne Poly student. Very professional yet cool teacher. I am learning something new and relevant every day, very practical stuff. Unique, fun and flexible way of teaching. What is your overall opinion about this university/college? From my one and a half year experience studying at Melbourne Polytechnic: Melbourne Polytechnic is a place you can get out there and be yourself. Do what you like and getting good at it. It is a very safe place to try and fail and try again until you get it right. Nobody is going to point fingers at you and be shamed on that, we are all here to learn. Although you may feel alone as a new overseas student, you’re not. Be open to teachers and to other students, you’ll never know how much help you can get just by opening up to other and I can guarantee, they will love to help you. In a nutshell, Melbourne poly is a great place to learn.
